About the League
The National Premier Soccer League
The New Jersey Blaze men’s teams play in the US Club Soccer National Adult Leagues (NAL) National Adult Leagues offer a structure for adult soccer in the United States. At the core of these leagues are the principles that standing should be determined on the field, and that promotion and relegation should decide the standing of a club. Within a clearly-defined framework and structure, clubs can now progress from local to regional, and regional to national competition based on their on-field performance. The Blaze senior team plays in the North East “Premier” flight, and the U20s play in the U20s division – where they were champions in 2010.
The objectives of the league are to:
Accomplish US Club Soccer’s goal of providing a vehicle through which clubs can offer life-long soccer to their members.
Expand adult soccer leagues at all levels of play, thereby allowing clubs to connect youth and adult soccer seamlessly, and develop "members for life."
Complete the US Club Soccer pyramid, by providing a competitive adult structure.
Follow the successful world model of full integration at all ages.
The Women’s Premier Soccer League
The Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) is an independent national league whose main focus is on the development of highly competitive amateur women's soccer teams. The WPSL also makes every effort to bring quality soccer to all levels of the community and to promote the stature of female athletes as role models for our youth.
The WPSL was formed in 1998. It is sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) as an affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the ruling body of soccer in the United States and FIFA the world's ruling body for soccer.
Many former and current U.S. and International National Team players have played within the WPSL, which is an opportunity to participate in an exciting, growing league whose focus is strictly upon the development and promotion of women soccer players. We have a foundation of committed and well-regarded teams located throughout the nation.
The WPSL season runs from May 1st to August 1st. There is a league championship tournament held the last weekend of July. The location of which is determined each year. Teams can expect to play 14-18 games during the season. The WPSL is an open league that is run by the teams. Each team gets one vote and decides all issues for the entire league.
