Central Jersey’s premier men’s soccer team, South Brunswick-based NJ Blaze, is set to open its inaugural National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) season with a live TV clash away at FC Sonic in the Lehigh Valley. The May 16 match will be the first of a 12-game regular season which will see the Blaze play its six home games at Rowland Park.

| New York Red Bulls announced today that it will field an Under-23 team in the National Premier Soccer League. “We are very excited to enter the NPSL, which is one of the top men’s amateur leagues in the country,” said Red Bulls Director of Youth Programs Bob Montgomery. “It gives the Red Bulls a chance to keep the top homegrown players through their college careers.”

The Youth Premier Soccer League today announced its play-off arrangements for the 2009 season, which will hosted by Long Island, and scheduled to coincide with the Women’s Premier Soccer League Final Four. The finals weekend will run August 1st and 2nd, with the leading teams from the YPSL North Atlantic and Mid-Atlantic conferences battling for overall league supremacy. The event will be hosted by the Albertson club on Long Island, along with the semi-finals and finals of the WPSL, bringing together the top women’s amateur clubs in the United States.

The Youth Premier Soccer League (YPSL) strengthened its position as the premier destination for youth soccer players in New Jersey today with the announcement that a third franchise in the state, the New Jersey Blaze, will enter the league in time for the 2009 season.
